Quirky Events, Bar Bizu and Black Brewing Co have teamed up to bring you an epic degustation dinner.
Chef Marcello will create six delicious courses, prepared with local produce and each carefully matched to a tasty brew by Black Brewing Co. The beers will be presented by Matt, Black Brewing’s self-professed “booze slinger” and will include the Lager, Bao Bao Milk Stout and Apple Cider from their core range, plus three new, not-yet-released beers; Double IPA, Hefeweizen and Rosewater Lemonade Sour!
Bar Bizu is a recent addition to the West Perth small bar scene. Their mantra is to “keep it simple” and they do exactly that with their chilled vibes, friendly service and modern tapas menu. This long table dinner will be in keeping with their theme as they will provide a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Black Brewing Co is located in Wilyabrup in the Margaret River region. Their brews are inspired by their beautiful surroundings and created using fresh, local produce. Every season they make new and exciting beers and you will be able to taste the latest ones at this dego dinner!

Last Friday, 10 wonderful beer loving people joined me for a sensational dinner at Bright Tank Brewing Co in East Perth.
Shortly after arrival, we were treated to a tasting paddle of three of Bright Tank’s finest beers including the Urban Farmer French Saison. We were lucky to try two new beers; Chalk Face Killa NEIPA and Clifford Red IIPA. Matt and Josh, the very passionate and knowledgeable brewers, talked us through the beers and explained the process of how they achieved such distinct flavour profiles.
Soon after, we enjoyed our starters which consisted of warmed olives, manchego, squid ink chorizo, pickles and olive tapenade. Everything was perfectly prepared, but the stand out was the chicken liver parfait served with house made bread.
The main meal was more than plentiful with an alternate drop of Smoked Beef Cheek with creamed cauliflower and salsa verde and BBQ Chicken with blood orange and chicory. They were served with sides of grilled broccoli and asparagus with the best béarnaise sauce I have ever had the pleasure to taste. Also included was a TEKU (300ml glass) of our choice of beer.
Dinner was followed by a tasting of Bright Tank’s not-yet-released collab beer brewed with Rocky Ridge, another sensational local brewery. It is a sour saison; a style of beer which I do not normally enjoy, but I found this was the perfect way to end a delicious meal.
What really made this night special was the exclusive tour of the brewery with Matt and Josh. They are wonderful hosts, who joined us for beers and showed us around the facility while adding in their own hilarious anecdotes. We were able to ask questions and generally banter about the WA craft beer industry in a very casual fashion.
